Birding in Colombo - Thanalngama, Malabe

Malabe is a town and municipal area in the Colombo District, Sri Lanka. It is situated on the Kandy road (A1) Road about 16 km away from the centre of the commercial capital Colombo. Regarded as a modern, hi-tech, secure and prosperous city in Sri Lanka, Malabe covers (14 km²) and ranks as the 2nd largest city by size. 
               My place is situated in Malabe, very close to city.but this area has lots of beautiful birds,both endemic and non endemic too.there is a wet land call Thalangama wet land also situated in malabe.and it was a grate place for birding.

    Just one suggestions... I think the one you named as "Black Drongo" is a "White-bellied Drongo". Black Drongo can be seen only in northern part of the island. One I've shot in Manner can be seen here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/hariendemel/7613436244/

    I am from India and would be in Colombo for 3 days...from this evening to Wed morning (30 Oct - 2 Nov) Want to go and visit Talangama Wet Lands on either Mon morning or Tues morning.
